Oh yeah that’s right, it’s the next expansion for our little mmo and I’m now accepted in to the cataclysm beta test. Of course it also meant that I had a LOT to download and install just to be able to log in. I fully expected this but that doesn’t make me any less twitchy or stop me from staying up all night to do it.
I started my download/install last night around 11pm after freeing up 17gb of hard drive space for cata. As it’s install I get an error saying failed not enough space. So I freed up more and tried again. Mind you it was at 82% the first time. But either way. Around 12:30am it finished and then started patching hell. It seems to take 10x longer to apply a patch then it does to actually download but it’s almost 6:15am and I believe I’m coming up on the last patch which is around 500mb. At least that’s the hope. But with any luck I’ll get in and start taking pictures to share And one last thing, I copied my dk over along with a premade hunter and warlock so it should be interesting to see all those changes.

Well it may not be legendary yet but the process took a while just to get it. I finally got the shadow’s edge tonight after our kills! Now to get some fresh blood on it and break it in. Oh ps. that is T10 on me as well.

I know they might look at the post once but I just want to say thanks to the guild for kicking ass tonight and getting those two down. It’s been a while but we did it! A special thanks to a few people for helping me out with primordials. I also want to thank all those that offered, I’ve said it to other but knowing that so many were willing feels better then actually getting the weapon. Now all that being said, lets keep kicking ass in icc!. 1000 scourge kills should be plenty of time to learn all the fights that is needed for the next part of the quest line.

Rotface & Festergut dead!

Yea a week after my last bitch post we got it killed. Hopefully a update later with the rotface kill.

What a awesome night. Compared to last week falling short on festergut, to get both rotface and festergut down has just kicked ass!

Allods Online initial impression

It is no secret to my friends that I try out a lot of games. Whether it be demos, trials, betas, alphas whatever the case may be. My most recent game test was for Allods Online. Before I even started playing the screenshots reminded me of WoW. Although that’s just screenshots. When I logged in game the character creation screen was pretty unusual but didn’t effect me. Now all of that being said. The first 5-10 minutes of playing you level up super fast. It’s like complete a quest get a level. Level 4 happened almost instantly. Now once out of the starting area it seemed like level 5 took forever.

Ok so I know that my experience consists of a very small part of the game. But I got to listening to the general chat and if things really are how they have been mentioned then I gotta say that this is certainly not my kind of game. I love F2P games that are supportedby micro transactions. From what I hear however, this game almost requires you to buy things if you want to survive at the end of the game.

I have to say though, theirs a lot about this that is pretty unique. Theirs one class that has a blood point meter that you build up as you use one ability. Then the mage like class actually builds up to 5 stacks of a buff that when you hit 5 your next shot will unleash either a positive or negative effect. I haven’t given all of the classes a try but they have something unique there. But as for the microtransactions their is no way I can play Allods.

So I haven’t posted in a while. But god after tonight’s wow raid I am so frustrated. Don’t you just hate it when you spend so long trying to kill a boss and then theirs that time. The stars are aligned everyone is doing 10 times better than ever. And you get to that same boss and what happens.

You get it to 2.7%! yep that’s what happened to us tonight. We have been trying for about a month now to kill festergut on 25 man icc. It’s that kind of night and fight that makes you look back. You say how is it even possible that we failed this. And then you realize oh theirs a dps that barely pulls their weight but they are getting a free ride. And what’s that? A tank died also. So no it was by no means a perfect night. That would consist of killing 25 man rotface and festergut and then following that up with obtaining shadow’s edge. And really the worst part about the whole situation is that we could of kept going if the one pug we had didn’t leave. Sure we could get another pug. But that would of taken forever and they probably would of been fail.

What a long strange trip….

It really was long, I mean it has been a year but after all of that hard work I finally got my 310 speed Violet Drake! I didn’t even know how fast it was until a couple months ago. When I started to do all of the events it was mainly to just get the only proto drake I had control over. But just look at that mount it’s awesome! I just want to say thank you to BK who traded me the last thing I needed(squashling) and to all the horde that died while I killed them in front of the alliance kid and while drugged up on nerds. Of course I would like to thank the RNG (random number generator) but that stupid thing failed me so much so forget that.

Tuesday was hell

No this isn’t a journal entry but just a post on how much tuesday sucked. So why was it bad you ask? Well my pc monitor died. And the only solution I thought I had was using a really tiny 12-14″ (not sure really) CRT monitor. Then I realized something. My tv has a built in spot to plug in a pc. So I spend two hours rearranging my room so that I can use the tv. Little did I know that this was going to cause some problems. First thing I realized was no more listening to tv in the background as I use the computer. The other was that the way I sit at the computer had to change a little. I mean the tv isn’t right in front of me on the desk. It’s off to the left side.

The actual problems on the computer are because the tv only supports this really weird resolution and that’s where the picture up top comes in at. If you click it you’ll see that is the size I am working with at the moment. It’s 1360 x 768 and I gotta tell you I’m annoyed. I’m used to 1024 pixels high at least. And to cram everything in to 768 is a pain.

So the monitor wasn’t the only thing that was so bad. I never actually got to sleep til about 11am, this was before the whole monitor mess. So I went to sleep at about 11 and woke around 4. Went to turn on the monitor and nothing. But later on at night after I hooked up the tv and raided in wow. I went to get some food and as I’m coming back to the room I trip over a poster I’m using as a cat barrier in my door way. I tumble in to the vacume cleaner, laundry basket, computer chair and finally I hit the ground about 5 inches from my bed. As I’m falling I’m thinking don’t drop the food. I actually try to put it on the computer chair so I can fall without worrying about it. But I think by doing that it made things worse. And of course all this stuff I’m hitting is falling over making a huge noise. Now keep in mind that this is 3am so I end up waking my mom up. All of my efforts to save the plate of food are wasted as it is on the floor upside down next to me.

Oh well, at least today was somewhat uneventful.

WoW 3.2 Mount Rant

Alright so we already know that the horde are basicly getting a easy Dragonhawk. That fact alone gets me annoyed because all they have to do is spend 150 champion’s seals and they get something that we have to get 100 other mounts for. I will gladly give away the chance to get a stupid hypogryph for that dragonhawk.

Anyway so if that wasn’t enough now they get a brand new hawkstrider which have some really great colors in my opinion. Oh sure we get one to but we just get a white horse that wants to be a unicorn. I mean look at it’s head. They could of made it more magical or something if they wanted to give us unicorns.

Oh and for your viewing pleasure here is some more crap with the plate T9 armor. As you can clearly see in this video. All of us plate wearers will have a permanent Gift of the Naaru symbol on our heads.
